The Sound of a Broken Zither

Story overview

Story overview

In the mist-shrouded small town of Fogisland, Norway, Elias, a former concert pianist, lives in seclusion running an antique piano repair shop after a rival sabotaged him and left irreversible nerve damage in his hands, while Audrey, a translator with progressive hereditary hearing loss, moves to this quiet coastal hamlet; they meet by an old vintage piano, communicating only via handwritten notes and gentle touches to build a deep spiritual resonance amid the endless sea fog, confronting their past wounds to achieve respective self-redemption, and rather than choosing a dramatic lifelong companionship, they turn their bond into strength to move forward, sharing a restrained, soft and wordless farewell amid faint piano melodies and sea breezes.
