Won Big, banned from $2.70 cherries

Story overview

Story overview

I paid their rent and bills for three years—$386,000. Then a hypoglycemia attack hit—I grabbed three cherries I'd bought myself. My son-in-law sent me a bill: $2.70. So I stopped paying. I'd just won $1 million and flew to the Caribbean alone. He called me a gold digger, a slut, a thief. The "rich old man" he ranted about? A woman—CEO of a major chain. She sued him for $500,000. I sued for defamation. He lost his job, his car, his money. He ended up in prison. Me? I run a cozy B&B now.
